The Alex Johnson Memorial Fund within the Department of Earth Science was established to honor graduate student Alex Johnson and memorialize his achievements in research and mentorship. Alex had a tremendous impact, both in his research area as well as through his inspiring teaching and mentoring of undergraduates. As a recipient of numerous awards, he was an outstanding student and role model. Gifts to the Alex Johnson Memorial Fund support the mentorship of undergraduates during their studies at UC Santa Barbara.
