UC Santa Barbara’s Cheadle Center for Biodiversity and Ecological Restoration (CCBER) is in the process of restoring 100 acres of land back into the historic upper arms of Devereux Slough. The site, known as North Campus Open Space (NCOS) is being restored to an ecologically significant complex of wetland and coastal upland habitats interspersed with trails. The 2.5-mile trail system will include bridges and a boardwalk that will form part of the California Coastal Trail and seamlessly connect people to the full 652 acres of Ellwood-Devereux Coastal Open Space. Gifts to the NCOS Restoration Fund will support the restoration project.
